Chelsea Repertory Company is the Studio's resident acting company created to foster mentorships between company members and students who are at various levels of training in our acting programs. Student productions are presented on a regular basis throughout the year under the auspices of Chelsea Rep. Consequently, the Chelsea Repertory Company has become a resident theatre company in the truest sense because all of our productions draw from a large pool of Studio-trained actors who share a common background in training and vocabulary. Many professional actors among our alumni return to the studio to perform with the company and to help mentor the younger, upcoming actors who are graduating from the program.
Each year Chelsea Repertory Company produces plays drawn from the canon of published American and World theatre classics and new original plays such as Knoxville, 1915 an adaptation by John Grabowski based on James Agee's novel A Death in the Family and new plays from the studio's playwriting classes presented in the Chelsea Rep LAB's annual e-Merging Artists One-Act Play Festivals and Summerfest One-Act Play Festivals which provides the studio's directing students an opportunity to direct and stage a one-act play of their choosing.
