LIMITED to 10 students only.
This class provides the fundamentals of practical stage and screen violence for the modern actor. The curriculum is extremely physically oriented, covering a variety of techniques that reflect the wide range of demands that are placed on actors in contemporary film and theater work. Throughout the class students focus on building partnering skills and kinesthetic awareness, and the development, rehearsal and performance of fight choreography. Special sessions will explore the truthful depiction of pain, death, and other forms of physical trauma. At the end of this eight week course the students will have a new awareness of their bodies as artistic instruments, and the foundation of training necessary to approach scenes of violence confidently.
